I enjoy writing websites of all forms, from a few simple static pages to full data driven catalogue sites. I have helped write intranet websites in ASP at both Compact Services and Siemens Environmental Systems Ltd during my summer holidays. I like to work with Editpad (a notepad alternative) since it allows me to have full control over the code whilst still providing basic colour coding. I always try to ensure my code is standards compliant and will check my work with the standards organisations as it is produced. I also check cross-browser compliance as far as I can and will check specific browsers (like Netscape 4 or Mozilla) if requested by the client.

I write data driven websites using server-side scripting with databases to provide catalogue sites which can be expanded to include shopping carts. I also produce a lot of the graphics myself. I will happily register domain names, organise hosting and submit your site to the major search engines.

This website uses the ASP code which was initially written for the GBJ site below. The HTML has been re-written by others and now uses XHTML and CSS (the code was originally written before these standards were in common use).

GBJ - Great British Jewels

Great British Jewels was a website run by my parents for a number of their clients. I helped write this website during one of my summer holidays. The website provided visitors with a chance to look through the catalogues of a number of jewellers and artists and also to order items using a shopping cart system. Whilst I was not involved in designing the graphics for the website I wrote a large amount of the underlying code, a variation of which is still used on a number of websites. Unfortunately, the website has now closed as the clients requirements changed and websites were written for individuals instead of collectively.
